Common Linnet | Bluthänfling | Linaria cannabina - Dümmer, Germany. 12 May 2021
During birdwatching at the nature conservation area of Dümmer in lower saxony, a pair of linnets landed next to me on a fence. Surprisingly the supposed female was totally white, being either albinotic of leucistic. Without her partner or the call, I would have wondered about the species identification of that unique bird. Sadly the photographic quality of the white bird picture is not as perfect as the male´s, but I wanted to share that special bird with you as well.
